Gratitude

The following is the 6th in a series of posts leading up to the Pre-Order date of our new Christmas album!

August 5th was our 2nd and last day of recording. We worked for 7 hours and then wrapped it UP. Kinda like a gift 🤔…

This was the day that I had all the trouble with water in keys and it was also solidified that I do NOT play well on a full stomach 🥴 Frances’s playing was SO solid, though. Rarely did she need “another take” throughout the 2 recording days…she made it seem so easy - I’m so grateful.

That night we actually did something touristy and ate in a restaurant *gasp*…Puckett’s in downtown Franklin and ate a pile of food. Ice cream might have been involved.

A week later we received the mixes from Kent and we made a few changes. I listened to Christmas music throughout our entire beach vacation. Everyone on the trip was thrilled <insert sarcasm> 😂 Then it was mastered and off it went to be printed and produced.

I’m not sure I can list everything I’m thankful for in regard to this project. I’ll try, though 😊

•Phillip Keveren’s beautiful arrangements and ability to create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere to record in.

•Kent Hooper’s incredibly efficient recording and mixing skills.

•Ken’s unwavering love and support

•My friends who have been on the receiving end of ridiculous commentary

•A certain person who makes 14-hour car rides feel like they’re only one hour. Ohhhh the conversations! They are not included as bonus material on the CD, sorry folks 🤣 But seriously…this wouldn’t have happened without Frances. 💜

I do understand that the oboe, as obscure as it might be for some, isn’t for everyone…but you know I’m all about spreading and sharing the Oboe Gospel. So tomorrow?

I’ll start preaching 📖🙌🏼😂😉🦆
